an officer of Indian Administration Services (IAS) ,1985 batch, and belongs to Union Territories Cadre.Presently, he is Director of Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) at the level of Joint Secretary to Govt of India.

Sharma belongs to the 1985 batch, Mechanical Engineering.
He did his M.E. in Production Engineering also from DCE. Later
on he did his M.B.A from Faculty of Management studies, University
of Delhi. He is a fellow of The Institution of Engineers and
Life member of All India Management Association. He belongs to the 1986 batch of IRSS Cadre of Indian Railways and is
